Francesc Macià Apartment

Barcelona, Spain

Located in one of Barcelona’s most iconic spots, Francesc Macià 10 is a standout example of Bauhaus style in the city, becoming a symbol of contemporary architecture and exclusive living at the border between the Eixample and Sant Gervasi neighborhoods. Designed by Marc Saugey in 1969, this national heritage building opens up in a unique way onto Francesc Macià square with a majestic concave façade that contrasts with the surrounding structures, which follow the curve of the square. It’s in this location, a global design reference, that one of our most challenging urban residential projects is found.

A Blank Canvas

This project presented itself as a 600 m² blank canvas where we could interpret the space according to the client’s wishes, highlighting the luxury of living just steps from Turó Park, one of the city’s most sought-after areas. The design revolves around the building’s elliptical shape, and when combined with floor-to-ceiling windows, it offers stunning 360º views of the city and the dazzling Mediterranean. We’ve developed four ensuite bedrooms, along with a set of social and day areas, a custom-designed open kitchen, and a yoga room.

A Timeless Urban Residence

To minimize visual noise from the bustling area—one of Barcelona’s busiest spots—and give the apartment a unique identity, the interior design project for Francesc Macià is based on a neutral color palette, open and airy spaces, organic lines, and warmth. Each room emphasizes self-care, with no decorative or architectural elements that create visual chaos, providing a one-of-a-kind living experience. The natural oak wood flooring offers a sense of continuity throughout the apartment. Light plays a key role in the project, with natural light streaming through the windows to bring the outside in, and elegant indirect lighting in common areas that creates a cozy atmosphere.

The Importance of Furniture and Decor

Every piece of furniture distributed throughout the apartment has its purpose, fitting perfectly into a cohesive overall vision. Lighting elements, decor, unique art pieces, and inviting furniture—carefully selected one by one by the LUV Studio style team and the LUV Lifestyle team—give the space its identity while reflecting the personalities of those who will live in the Francesc Macià apartment.
