At LUV Studio, we understand the Mediterranean as a way of life off the clock, where simple outdoor living becomes the most intimate luxury. Based on this premise, we have worked on the architectural and interior design of Platja d’Aro House, a house that strikes a balance between modernity, timelessness and tradition in a unique setting.
This refurbishment project, which is located in a Mediterranean paradise of the Costa Brava, has involved the transformation of a house imbued with history into a modern home that maintains the warm and welcoming essence of Mediterranean architecture, disregarding current trends.

A HIDDEN GEM, NATURAL MATERIALS AND FLOWING LINES
Wood, arches and open spaces interact throughout this home both inside and outside.
The project has kept the original two-story structure, while maintaining its rustic and traditional character, while enriching it with more modern architectural elements, clean and flowing lines, open spaces and adding natural materials, such as wood and stone.
The range of neutral and warm colours, which prevail throughout the house, creates a calm atmosphere that is noticeable in every room. Wood is used in floors, ceilings and furniture, thus acting as a common thread throughout the spaces, providing a visual feeling of continuity and warmth.
OPEN SPACES THAT ARE DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO THE LANDSCAPE
Platja d’Aro House’s interior design maximises the natural light flooding each room, thus providing a fluid atmosphere that integrates seamlessly with the outdoors. The large windows, which open up directly to the garden, as well as the outdoor lounges and the swimming pool enhance the feeling of belonging and the link with the environment, which creates an open and spacious atmosphere. This interior design affords a smooth transition between indoors and outdoors, thus providing a living experience that celebrates the Mediterranean way of life.
IN PRAISE OF AN OUTDOOR LIFESTYLE
The exterior of the house has been designed to make the most of the Costa Brava’s privileged climate, embrace the beauty of the Mediterranean environment and celebrate outdoor living.
The eyecatcher of the outdoor space is the swimming pool, which faces south and is surrounded by a large garden.
Moreover, Platja d’Aro House features two terraces at either end of the villa that are shaded by wooden pergolas and plants. One of them is the perfect dining area for outdoor dinners with family and friends, whereas the other is a great chill-out area for relaxing while enjoying the views and the calm atmosphere at sunset.
